Do you charge for an appointment?

The appointment is totally free. But if there is no show or late notice of cancellation less than 48 hours before your appointment time, a $30 no-show fee will be charged, Sundays we are closed, no one will be here, we are by appointment ONLY. Therefore, the cancelation/ no show fee for Sundays only is $50. We really appreciate your notice of cancellation in advance so the brides on the waiting list can get the opportunity to try on dresses, and that makes our stylists' time meaningful too. You can cancel via email, phone call, or text message

Do I need an appointment?

We strongly recommend you make an appointment, especially on weekends when appointments are usually fully booked. You can book an appointment online, or just give us a call! But you are more than welcome to walk in to browse all the beautiful wedding gowns, just give us a heads up before heading our way, so we can let you know if luckily there is any fitting room available for you to try on dresses.

What should I bring with me?

We recommend that you wear nude underwear. Note that your bridal consultant will be getting up close and personal to help you in and out of the gowns, so bear that in mind when you are considering going commando. We also encourage you to keep your make-up light for the sake of our gowns. If you have a veil from your mom, sister, or aunt – or special jewelry that must be a part of your big day – bring that along too!

Whom should I bring with me?

This is up to you of course! However, we do suggest that you keep your entourage small – for your own sanity. One to three peeps who know you best will often ensure a good time for all and a happy bride-to-be. The maximum guest amount we could accommodate at the weekend is 5 due to the intimate setting of our boutique. But if you have a larger group, please give us a call so we can arrange a suitable time slot for you.

What size are your sample gowns?

Our wedding gown samples are a range of sizes, with a handful of sizes 4-8 and 20-26, but the majority of the gowns are between 10 and 18. Never fear – we have tips and tricks to pin you in the samples to give you a vision of what the gown will look like in your size. If you have a specific concern about gown sizing, give us a call! And keep in mind that the bridal size is 2 sizes larger than the regular US size. If your regular dress size is 8, then the right bridal gown size for you is probably size 12.

What is the price range of your gowns?

Our bridal gowns range from $799 to $4000. The majority of our gowns are between $1000 – $2500. For off-the-rack dresses on sale, we offer 20%- 60% off, and most off-the-rack dresses are $399 -1000.

What is the process to buy a gown at Swan Bridal?

When you find the one that makes your heart sing, we take your measurements and order your gown according to the size closest to those measurements. Your order will require a 70% initial payment. In 4-8 months – depending on the designer – your gown will arrive and you can come back for a follow-up appointment to pick up your dress and pay the remaining balance.

How far in advance do I need to buy my gown?

Most of our designers take 6 - 7 months to create your made-to-order gown – however, some can take up to 8 months because it takes months longer for the designer company to make custom changes (like customizing the skirt length or adding sleeves). Factor in time for alterations, and we’re looking at 8-12 months before your big day. Don’t have that much time? That’s okay – a select number of our designers have a large inventory that can be shipped out in 2 days. And some designers also offer rush service for a fee. For our own designs, we offer 8-week rush.

Will I need alterations?

Yep! While your gown is made to order, it is based on a standard size chart. Most gowns will need at least minimal alterations to make it fit you perfectly. We provide in-house alterations with our talented independent in-house seamstress but there is no obligation to have your alterations here if you already have a seamstress. We strongly recommend a alterations seamstress that works specifically with Wedding Gowns.

What is a trunk show?

Trunk shows are an opportunity for brides to see more of a designer’s wedding dress collection than what is already available at Swan Bridal – often the entire current collection is available to try on and purchase! Trunk shows are only in the store for one or two weekends, and they book up quickly! So if you know of an upcoming trunk show and you don’t want to miss it, book your appointment promptly!

Do you offer refunds or exchanges on purchases?

All gowns, veils, sashes, and headpieces are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. Therefore, we take the time to ensure you are satisfied with your gown and accessories before you leave the boutique with them – we want happy brides!
