Do I need an appointment?

We strongly recommend you make an appointment if you plan to come on Saturday or Sunday because weekends are the busiest time. You can book an appointment online, or just give us a call! But you are more than welcome to walk in, just give us a heads up before heading our way.

What should I bring with me?

We recommend that you wear nude underwear. Note that your bridal consultant will be getting up close and personal to help you in and out of the gowns, so bear that in mind when you are considering going commando. We also encourage you to keep your make-up light for the sake of our gowns. If you have a veil from your mom, sister, or aunt – or special jewelry that must be a part of your big day – bring that along too!

Whom should I bring with me?

This is up to you of course! However, we do suggest that you keep your entourage small – for your own sanity. One to three peeps who know you best will often ensure a good time for all and a happy bride-to-be. The maximum guest amount we can handle is 5 due to limited seating. But if you have a larger group, please give us a call so we can arrange a suitable time slot for you.

What size are your sample gowns?

Our wedding gown samples are a range of sizes, with a handful of sizes 4-8 and 20-26, but the majority of the gowns are between 10 and 18. Never fear – we have tips and tricks to pin you in the samples to give you a vision of what the gown will look like in your size. If you have a specific concern about gown sizing, give us a call! And keep in mind that bridal size is 2 sizes larger than the street size. If your regular dress size is 8, then the right bridal gown size for you is probably size 12. Below is a bridal size chart you can use to check the bridal size.

What is the price range of your gowns?

Our bridal gowns range from $800 to $2500. The majority of our gowns are between $1000 – 1800. For off the rack dresses on sale, we offer 40%- 50% off, and the price range is $400 - 1000.

What is the process to buy a gown at Swan Bridal?

When you find the one that makes your heart sing, we take your measurements and order your gown according to the size closest to those measurements. Your order will require a 60% initial payment. In 4-6 months – depending on the designer – your gown will arrive and you can come back for a follow-up appointment to pick up your dress and pay the remaining balance.

How far in advance do I need to buy my gown?

Most of our designers take 4-5 months to create your made-to-order gown – however, some can take up to 6 months. Factor in time for alterations, and we’re looking at 8-12 months before your big day. Don’t have that much time? That’s okay – a select number of our designers have a large inventory that can be shipped out in 2 days. And designers also offer rush service for a fee.

Will I need alterations?

Yep! While your gown is made to order, it is based on a standard size chart. Most gowns will need at least minimal alterations to make it fit you perfectly. We do not provide in-house alterations, but we are happy to recommend an excellent seamstress in San Antonio.

What is a trunk show?

Trunk shows are an opportunity for brides to see more of a designer’s wedding dress collection than what is already available at Swan Bridal – often the entire current collection is available to try on and purchase! Trunk shows are only in the store for one or two weekends, and they book up quickly! So if you know of an upcoming trunk show and you don’t want to miss it, book your appointment promptly!

Do you offer refunds or exchanges on purchases?

All gowns, veils, sashes, and headpieces are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. Therefore, we take the time to ensure you are satisfied with your gown and accessories before you leave the boutique with them – we want happy brides!
